Congratulations to VDS members Phil, Teresa, Paul and Connie for their showing last weekend at the American Dahlia Society National Show in Portland Oregon. Phil and Teresa won 5 ribbons , Paul won 2 Head table awards and Connie won 5 Head table awards and Best Bloom in Show.
Dahlias work extremely well as border plants and in pots and as an added benefit the bees and butterflies love them. Pictured below are some dahlia varieties that work particularly well in the garden border, including Rembrandt which grows to about 12″ tall and Bonne Esperance which grows to 18 to 24″.
