The Pacific Northwest Dahlia Conference(PNDC) annually awards its Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievement to recognize a member’s exceptional contributions to the Northwest Dahlia community.

2024 Cathrine Featherby
Cathy Featherby has been a member of the Victoria Dahlia Society since 2005. She has been instrumental in organizing and running the Tuber Sale in a number of venues over many years. She was active in the Trial Garden until its closure and has been involved with the Learning Garden since its inception. In 2017 she learned how to use PowerPoint which allowed her to develop programs on growing, storing and caring for dahlias plus many other programs on dahlia diseases and pests. In addition, Cathy is a dahlia hybridizer, Cat’s Hot Lips and Cat’s Mellow Yellow being two varieties she created.

2014 Paul McKittrick
Paul has been growing dahlias since 1997. He has been a member of the Victoria Dahlia Society since 2002 and was Club President for four of those years. He was the Show Chair / Show Secretary for our annual dahlia show from 2006 to 2017.
His knowledge was acquired from great mentors, workshops, and by attending any North American Dahlia Show held in the Pacific Northwest (British Columbia, Washington and Oregon). At these shows, he won numerous Head Table awards for best in show and for the various dahlia forms.
His garden consists of 300 dahlias plus 100 seedlings (from his hybridization program). He has introduced over 20 dahlia originations. His garden also has many different varieties of rhododendrons, azaleas and fruit trees, as well as many shrubs, flowers and vegetables. He also propagates mason bees for the fruit trees.

The Federation of Northwest Dahlia Growers has honoured Victoria Dahlia Society member Connie Young-Davis by including her in their Legacy Project.
